Client & Business Background
Kores Engineering (Engineering business of Kores India Ltd) is a long-standing manufacturing business specialising in core drilling rigs, drilling accessories, exploration and geotechnical services. According to their website:
- They offer customised drilling rigs with depth capacities from 150 m to 2400 m.
- Their solutions span a wide range of applications: limestone, granite & quartz exploration, coal exploration, soil testing/geotech, water-well drilling, coal-bed methane (CBM) gas exploration.
- They also provide accessories/spares, rental rigs, maintenance contracts (AMC/CAMC), and service across global locations.
- The engineering division references 37+ years of customer service and 1000+ machines operating worldwide.
With this broad, industrial‐scale business, the need was for a strong digital presence that reflects their capability, heritage, global footprint and technical depth.
Project Objectives
- Corporate Branding & Positioning: Elevate brand image to reflect a global-class heavy engineering manufacturer of drilling rigs and accessories.
- Product Showcase: Enable the full suite of drilling rigs, accessories, services (rental, AMC, etc) to be clearly presented, with technical specifications and application context.
- Global Audience Reach: Support multiple geographies (India + Middle East + Africa etc) and drive enquiries from international customers.
- Lead Generation Mechanism: Include contact forms, regional representation details, downloadable case studies, to convert interest into sales inquiries.
- Responsive & Mobile-Ready Platform: Given decision makers may access from mobile devices (site visits, field engineers), the platform must perform well on all devices.
- Scalability & Manageability: The site should allow the Kores team to update product lines, service offerings, case studies, geographic presence easily.
Development Process & Approach
Discovery & Strategy:
- Attoinfotech conducted stakeholder interviews with Kores Engineering’s management and marketing team to understand product lines (rigs, accessories, services), markets (mining, geotech, water wells, CBM), competitor benchmarks, key user personas (procurement heads, mining engineers, global buyers).
- Performed content audit of existing site(s): identification of product specs, case studies (e.g., rigs achieving higher drilling metre targets) etc. The site mentions case-studies like achieving 1600 m/month with KDR-1000 hydrostatic drills.
- Defined key user journeys: Visitor arrives interested in drilling rig solutions → explores product categories → views technical specs → reads case studies → requests quote/contact.
Design Phase:
- Developed a visual system aligned with heavy engineering: strong visuals of rigs, site images, exploration work, robust typographic hierarchy, industrial colour palette (blues/greys/metal).
- Designed key templates: Home page (hero banner with global presence), Product page (rigs with depth capacities 150m-2400m), Service page (rental/AMC), Case study page, Contact/Global offices page.
- Ensured responsive/mobile-first design: menu navigation, large images optimised for mobile, stepping down heavy imagery for field access.
Development Phase:
- Front-end built with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript for interactivity (e.g., product filtering, gallery).
- Back-end CMS (such as WordPress or custom) to allow Kores team to add/update products, case studies, filters.
- Product catalogue structure: drilling rigs by capacity, accessories, services – with separate pages and downloadable specs.
- Global enquiry/contact form: region-specific contact information, WhatsApp link, email etc. (see Contact Us page)
- SEO and performance optimisation: metadata, alt tags on images (important for heavy-image site), caching, minification.
- Analytics/tracking: to capture visitor source, product interest, form conversions.
- Accessibility/security: SSL, simple UX, best practices for industrial site.
Testing & Launch:
- Cross-device testing (desktop, tablet, mobile) to ensure product pages render correctly, forms work.
- Performance testing: large image galleries (drilling rigs) optimised for speed.
- Compatibility testing across browsers (Chrome, Safari, Edge) and on slower mobile networks (often important for field engineers/locations).
- Go-live deployment: Attoinfotech configured hosting, backed up site, trained Kores team on CMS usage (product upload, case study addition).
Post-Launch & Support:
- 30-day post-launch monitoring for bug fixes, broken links, image loading issues, contact form tests.
- Documentation & training for Kores team on using CMS, updating content, adding new regional offices, case studies.
- Roadmap meeting: suggestions for future enhancements – multilingual support, client login for service contracts, video case studies of rigs in operation, interactive product configurator.
Key Features & Highlights
Comprehensive Product Catalogue: Drilling rigs with technical details (depth capacity 150 m to 2400 m) and application sectors (mining, water wells, CBM).
Case Studies & Proof Points: e.g., rigs achieving higher metres per month, fleet details. This builds credibility for corporate/industrial buyers.
Global Contact & Service Network: Contact page listing Indian offices and Middle East/Africa sales & service partners.
Responsive & Industrial Design: Visuals of rigs, exploration contexts, minimal but strong layout emphasising heavy-engineering capability.
Manageable CMS & Future-Ready Structure: Allows Kores to update product lines, add accessories, services, rental options, new markets.
Outcomes & Impact
Enhanced Online Positioning: Kores Engineering now presents a modern, polished digital face matching its manufacturing leadership and global reach.
Improved Lead Flow: With clearer product pages, case studies and contact forms, the site is better able to convert visitors into enquiries (procurement heads, geotech firms).
Content Ownership & Agility: The Kores team can now update product lines, add new case studies, modify specs without needing major dev work.
Mobile / Field Access Ready: Engineers, buyers in remote locations can access the site on mobile devices to review rig specs, service options.
Foundation for Growth: The platform supports expansion – adding service portals, client login, interactive rig configurators, multilingual support – without needing complete rebuild.
Challenges & How They Were Addressed
Heavy Visual & Image Load: Drilling rig equipment and site imagery are large and can slow load times. Mitigation: image compression, lazy-loading, caching, optimizing for mobile network speeds.
Complex Product Specification: Multiple capacities, accessories and services needed structured presentation. We addressed this by designing clear filterable product catalogue with spec tables and downloadable PDFs.
Global Audience & Multi-Region Reach: Need to support different geographies with varying network speeds, languages. We used a responsive design, light-weight resources, and global-ready formats.
Industrial Tone vs Consumer Web Expectations: Balancing technical seriousness (for B2B industrial buyers) with modern web UX. Design was kept clean, professional, visual tone industrial but not outdated.
Client Content Nutrition: Corporate site often requires many case studies & specs; we worked with Kores to gather key content (projects, certificates, testimonials) to populate the site.
Conclusion
The collaboration between Atto Infotech and Kores Engineering resulted in a robust, scalable digital platform that aligns with the client’s legacy in heavy engineering, global footprint and product complexity. The website now stands as a credible, modern touchpoint for clients, procurement professionals, and global partners – showcasing machinery, services and case-studies with clarity.
From strategy and content gathering, through design, development, testing, and launch, the project was navigated carefully with attention to performance, usability, and future scalability. The result is a digital asset that supports Kores’ ongoing growth in drilling rig manufacturing and exploration services.
